Want to make the transformational leap from "jazzy" singer to "Jazz" singer?
In this master class, critically acclaimed vocalist/educator and recording artist Kitty Margolis will offer a jam-packed afternoon of unique insight into the secrets of vocal jazz from the nuts and bolts to the heart and soul. Well-known for her straightforward, inspiring and humorous approach in imparting the complexities of the improvisational mind-set, the globetrotting Margolis – whose award-winning recordings have earned her Top 10 airplay and an international fan-base – has been a guest lecturer in the Jazz studies programs of the world's renowned universities and high schools and many of her students have developed successful recording careers of their own. Says one gratified workshop participant; "I learned more in one life-changing hour with Kitty than a whole year of jazz instruction." Guitar great Brad Buethe will be on hand to accompany. Come ready to sing and leave with deeper understanding, refreshed motivation, and new chops.

This unique session will be limited to ten (10) intermediate and advanced-beginner level vocalists.

Kitty Margolis, Honorary Chair at the Jazz Moderne, Art Deco and the Avant Garde Festival Pavillion, Fort Mason Center, San Francisco
Thursday Oct. 24 - Sunday Oct. 27 show continues with exhibition, lectures, cocktail hour programs and donor parties!
Kitty says: "It is my absolute pleasure to serve as the Honorary Chair of the 2013 SAN FRANCISCO FALL ANTIQUES SHOW. I'm particularly excited about this year's theme, Jazz Moderne: Art Deco and the Avant Garde, a time so imbued with the adventurous spirit of America's ground-breaking new music it became known as the "Jazz Age.

One of the most festive & glamorous events of the year, the SFFAS benefits a great cause with 100% of proceeds supporting Enterprise for High School Students, a non-profit career development agency serving San Francisco youth and an organization well in tune with my devotion to education, mentorship and advocacy.

If you're a fan of the period that brought us King Oliver's Creole Band, Louis Armstrong, Bix Beiderbecke, Duke Ellington and Bessie Smith — the era portrayed in Boardwalk Empire, Chicago, The Cotton Club & The Great Gatsby — you'll be transfixed by the stunning exhibits of Art Deco objets d'art. Jewelry, furniture, decorative arts, vintage posters and prints — everything's there to be admired and perhaps even taken home with you. Come and celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the end of Prohibition with me at the SFFAS... and heartfelt thanks for supporting the cause!"
